All residential rental properties must obtain an occupancy rental permit before a property can be occupied. Rental properties are licensed by the Borough and an occupancy inspection and permit is required if new tenants are scheduled to occupy the residence during the calendar year. Applications for occupancy permits and general occupancy requirements are available on the site.
The Department also is responsible for enforcement of the Borough Zoning Ordinance. Zoning permits may be required when, for example, a new shed is placed on a property, fencing is installed, or new construction and/or additions to existing structures are proposed.
